FIXING MICHIGAN'S BROKEN UNEMPLOYMENT SYSTEM
Michigan is ready to be the leader and innovator for the nation. Its time for next generation solutions!
People often ask me, “why would you want to be in politics?”
My answer is simple. Because I like to serve.
I’m not running for office with an axe to grind or a score to settle with a state department. And I think that’s what makes a big difference here in Northern Michigan. We do things right. We are conservative, respectful and supportive of our neighbors. We want what’s best for our kids and for our future.
Service is about putting others first and caring about their needs. Political revenge is about yourself. We need less people running against something and more running for something and I am for making our communities stronger. We do that by ensuring people earn higher wages, that our constitution is defended and life is held sacred.
I seek to find real lasting solutions to our problems. I want to see our kids receive the best education and become career ready when they graduate. I’m the only member of my family to go to college and earn a degree, yet all of my siblings and my parents are very successful in what they do.
We need to make sure our kids have the same opportunities that we do by funding vocational education and giving everyone the chance to be contributing members of the workforce and earning a livable age upon high school graduation while still allowing college as a choice, too.
Secondly, we owe it to ourselves to find a solution to fixing our roads that doesn’t involve taxing us to death. It’s time our government prioritizes spending and stops putting their hand out to us. I’m going to work with my partners in the legislature to find a meaningful solution to fixing our crumbling infrastructure.
Third, We need to find solutions to our housing shortage that protects the rights of property owners while still making affording housing available to those most in need. Running a restaurant, I have witnessed our hard working employees struggle to find adequate homes that they can afford. And I’ll work to find a solution to that problem.
And lastly, what I think is most important is we need a representative who listens. Over the last three years, I had the distinct privilege of work for senator Schmidt. Across this district I have listened and heard you.
By listening, I have developed the partnerships to be your voice in Lansing. As I hear you, Lansing will hear me.
My promise to you is that my time in the legislature will be devoted to serving you. Any legislation I introduced or vote on will always have one primary goal: “How will this better serve the people I represent”
